I just watched Dr. Horrible this morning while at the gym and definitely liked it. I'm a big nph (no, i didn't shorten it because I'm a fan, i shortened it because I'm lazy) fan, and his timing is absolutely perfect for this character, the casting just works great, even if he's just grabbing people that even if Whedon is just grabbing people from stuff he's worked on before
I liked it, not mind blowing, not an instant classic, doesn't bring anything new to the table (except a big name guy doing something without a studio) but it was pretty great, and I'm certainly not a big Joss Whedon fan by any means, I never got into Firefly, and Serenity certainly was pretty good, but him being attached to something doesn't mean shit to me. in fact, because of how the geeks beat off to the mere mention of his name it almost turns me away from watching whatever he put out _________________ http://www.jeremyhalvorsen.com

This is just funny to me. You shortened it, only to explain why instead of just not shortening it in the first place. LOL.

We SO do not beat off to it. Er...I wouldn't if I could...He just always does something off the beaten track *giggle*, and that automatically makes me curious about whatever his next project is.
I also blame Fox for the failure of Firefly. They just didn't treat them fairly...who the hell airs shows in completely random order!?!?
Anyway...Has anyone else heard about Dollhouse? I'm looking forward to that this fall. Sounds a little like Alias, but better. _________________ "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have." -Pres. Ford

Firefly was awesome. As long as you weren't trying to watch it on Fox. They aired the episodes randomly, which may not have mattered a TON, but it messed with some of the longer-term plots. I have a theory that this is why it got cancelled...sometimes stuff didn't make sense. _________________ "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have." -Pres. Yeah, but if you buy the DVDs and watch them in order, it's pretty damn awesome.
And watch Serenity immediately after. _________________ There will come a time when you believe everything is finished, but that will be the beginning. - Louis L'Amour

Yep, that's how I saw it. When I looked at the original air dates in the DVD paperythingy, I couldn't believe it. I tried to watch them in the order they were aired, and it was a little confusing.
FOX + Firefly = FAIL.
DVD + Firefly = WIN! _________________ "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have." -Pres. Ford

Are there even ten movie adaptations of cancelled TV shows? The only ones I can think of are Brady Bunch, Flintstones, and Serenity. _________________ This post brought to you by Petty Revenge: When not being a jerk just won't do.

Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch, X-Files.
I'm sure there's more, those were just the first ones that popped into my head.
Hmmm. Think of more shows from the 70's. They probably made a movie out of them. _________________ There will come a time when you believe everything is finished, but that will be the beginning. - Louis L'Amour

Hmm, one could make a case for Transformers, as well as half of the Muppet movies. Does it count if the show wasn't so much canceled as much as they just stopped making new episodes? _________________ This post brought to you by Petty Revenge: When not being a jerk just won't do.

Yes, that counts. There's also a whole bunch of Disney shows that go on to make movies (I can think of that one with Hilary Duff off the top of my head...).
Also, there's Sex & The City.
Also, I watche Dr. Horrible yesterday and it was HILARIOUS! I love Neil Patrick Harris! _________________ "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have." -Pres. Ford
I don't know about everyone else but I feel that "LOST" is the most INCREDIBLE SHOW ON EARTH!!!! I love it! I feel like Joe did with 24. That's a show I wanna see a movie for!
