New, fresh, clean thread, everybody who's anybody is gonna be attending the Mentally Incontinent Late Fall Ohio Meet-up, that starts Friday, December 5th and rollicks on through the weekend until Sunday, December 7th!
Joe has RSVP'ed and guess what? He's bringing his better half, Andrea! You must attend if you want to meet the star of such Mentally Incontinent stories as "Meat me at Lovejoy" and "Pure Garbage."
Mike will also be attending, who was featured in plenty a story such as "Doing the Gay" and "I think I'm turning Japanese". The man, the legend, if you didn't get to meet him in Vegas, you can't miss this opportunity!
Everyone should RSVP here even if you've told me already so we can get a doubly certain head count, and you should PM me your email address so I can put you on the newsletter list.
Also let us know if you want to share a hotel room, or if you already have a place to crash, thanks. _________________

You know I'll be there! I brought the hubby to the last Columbus event and he had a good time. I'll see if I can talk him into this one also, although it might be a tough sell being that it's at a place called Cafe Kerouac and might also involve art in the Short North (are we doing Gallery Hop?).

anyone who wants on the newsletter list PM me on here or send a message to SexCpotatoes(at)mentallyincontinent.com
The Tentative Itinerary is as follows:
Quote:
Friday
Arrive in town, meet up, check in to the hotel(s), and relax a bit. Then take off for Cincy?
or
Go hang out at CBR's.
or
find a deserted parking lot and do doughnuts
or
we'll figure out something awesome to do!
Saturday
9am Breakfast
10 am? Paintball/Laser Tag. I did find mention of an indoor paintball place, so that may be an option, or we could scrap the paintball all together and go for Laser Tag if the weather is too cold.
1240pm Lunch near the Barnes and Noble
2:00-5:00 Barnes and Noble book signing/reading event. Quick clarifier:
The barnes and noble event will be 2 - 3 hours total, but Joe's talking will be 30 mins or an hour depending on if Drew Curtis from FARK (and Fark TV for those of you who remember that) is going or not.
after that
6pm Hound Dog's Pizza (the best pizza in all of Columbus, and maybe Ohio, I've been told. We shall see, we shall see...)
and at 8pm, Joe is booked @ Cafe Kerouac, where he will be giving a poetry reading, and we will fuel up on caffeine for the Gallery....
....wait for it....
....Crawl! Yes, I've heard about this gallery crawl thing that they have in downtown Columbus on Saturday Nights, bars, galleries, gift shoppes all participate in this with special sales and prices.
Then, if you dare! We will be taking a Midnight Cemetary Tour with our very own TimeRacer (theeeey're GrrrrrRRRReEAT).
Sunday is open so far, but might I suggest
Farewell brunch!
This is entirely open to change so far. So get your suggestions in if you have any big IDEAS.
Cincinnati entirely depends on the interest there> We've got two people that I know of (derickls and poisnedcoke) residing there, but if they can't make it to hang out, we may scrap the plans for visiting Cincy altogether (unless Joe drags us on a Bengals shopping spree run or something). If you live in Cincinnati and wanna hang with Joe, speak up! _________________

Indoor paintball kinda tends to suck (in my experience, at any rate). Unless there's a woodsball field, laser tag is probably a better bet. In fact, there's a Laser Quest about halfway between Columbus and Cincinnati (in Centerville). I've got a bunch of coupons there (2 for 1's, reduced price, all kinds of stuff), so it would probably be a good bet. _________________ This post brought to you by Petty Revenge: When not being a jerk just won't do.

I'm all for going Laser Tag instead of Paintball. I don't do well in the cold, and we still get to shoot each other _________________ Bring me a tool shed, for I am hungry!

Plus, if you get nailed, you're only out for a few seconds, instead of until the next game. _________________ This post brought to you by Petty Revenge: When not being a jerk just won't do.

Ok, I have a silly question. At which B&N will the Sat. afternoon reading be? The one on campus? (never mind, I just answered my own question by like, actually reading the announcements and such)
Also, I stopped in at Cafe Kerouac last night and it is absolutely the perfect place for the Sat. evening event. They also sell used books and albums and it is just a very cool, dive-y, kind of place. Oh, and the bathroom was clean.
And, if I may, I'd like to put in a vote for CBR's on Friday night because the Foundation is playing and they are my favorite band that plays there. They are an awesome cover band that does songs ranging from the Jackson 5 to Def Leppard to Weezer to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (the singer even whips out a trombone!). So, even if other plans are made, I'm afraid that I will be at CBR's.

Still planning to be there on Saturday. You should have gotten my PM.
I too, vote for laser Tag. Paintball would require getting full of paint.....
When you send the email updates it would be nice if you could include addresses of locations.
I have a feeling we'll (wife and I) will be doing the crawl even if the rest of the group doesn't. That might be the only way I get her to make the drive down and back on Saturday.
