The rules for the Mentally Incontinent forums are really very simple.

Basically, be cool.

This is intended to be a fun, creative and open environment. Just like real life, the First Amendment applies here - say whatever you want, however you want to say it. But be aware - just like real life, there are rules.

1) Be Respectful. No ridiculousness. These things will get you banned almost immediately:

- racial slurs

- sexual harassment

- being a member of PeTA

2) Fight, but fight fair. Now, everyone knows that we don't all get along on this Earth. It's human nature to disagree, and as such, there are going to be arguements and fights that break out. Any and all fights / flamewars will be instantly removed from the thread and moved to it's own specific thread in a section dedicated to fights and flamewars. Think of it as a boxing ring made out of 1's and 0's. Do your dirtiest in that thread, but LEAVE IT THERE. Once the fight is over, the thread will be killed and moved into the graveyard. Carrying a fight into a new thread is uncool, and you will be branded.

3) No Plagiarism. We have an entire discussion group dedicated to the pursuit and apprasal of the fine arts. We want everyone who has even the tinest inclination of expressing themselves to do so, be it visually, musically, written or otherwise. However, we will not abide plagarism. If you wish to post a friend's / stranger's work, please do - just give them proper credit. If you are caught stealing someone's work, you're gonna get it. We will contact the original owner and notify them of your indiscretion. Then, we will announce you on the front page of this site and encourage everyone and thier brother to make fun of you. Then you'll be banned.

4) Posting of personal info: Don't do that. If you post someone's phone number, home or work address, license plate number, credit card number, etc. and so forth, thy ass shalt be kicked.

5) Posting the words "First" and "Post" in a thread just to do it: Don't be a dick.

6) Posts in all general, site and discussion group threads should be kept at a PG-13 level, or close to it. If you wanna get into the X-rated stuff, head over to Anything Goes, that's what it's there for

7) (added 2.18.05) If you resign your rank in the forum and decide later to come back, your post count will be reset to "0" and your title will have to be "re-earned". This does not apply to breaks or vacation or anything else of that nature -- only announced departures that are permanent or give the indication of permanence. If you do leave and choose to come back, you will be welcomed with opened arms, you'll just have to start all over.

Now, these rules are not all-inclusive. There are things that people will do that aren't covered under these rules that are naughty. If you do them, you'll get warned and a special title will be branded upon your username for a week, just to keep you on your toes - Dolphin Vomit (first warning) or even worse, Puke Covered Levi's (second warning). You get two warnings, then you get tossed.

But Special Titles aren't always punishment! You will notice that there are "Rankings" next to each user's name. These rankings change based on the number of posts the user has made in the forums. So far, the highest "Regular" ranking is reached at 200 posts. Once you reach 200, a vote will open up on a Special Ranking specifically tailored to you. Once you reach 250 posts, that special ranking will be added to your username! (Wheeeeeeeeeee!)

As far as bans go, please direct any and all appeals for unfair bannination to your mother, because after two warnings, no one here will listen to you.

That's pretty much it. We think those rules are pretty reasonable. Mostly, we just want everyone to have fun, and we are going to do our best to promote that. So, have a good time!
