I'm trying to read The Complete Works of Shakespeare. Do y'all think I'm as crazy as my friends do? I enjoy readin it, but my friends think I'm an idiot.

I for one think it is a fine endeavor and I support it.

I'm also one of the few people I know who actually enjoys reading Shakespeare's plays and works.

I'm also stupid.

I'm not fond of Shakespeare, but I recognize the cultural significance of his works. I wish you the best of luck in completing your task.

I don't think you're crazy. I want to do that, too, but I don't have time to go find them at the library and I don't own them all. Plus, I'm currently working on the compete works of Stephen King. icon_razz.gif

Maybe Shakespeare would be better if I didn't have to stop every three sentences to decipher what was said, but good luck to you.

I'm trying to get ahold of some of the books mentioned in my World History book that look interesting.

Hey, yeah, while we are at it, we should put together a list of movies that are remakes of his plays. I will start the Thread...

I would like to read them, I imagine I'd be asking a bunch of questions of my friend who has many versions and can recite the most famous passages without a book in sight....

That's kind of how I felt about Shakespeare in high school. I've found that the older I get, the more I 'get it' ... and not because my vocabulary's improved. icon_razz.gif

I have bad memories of Shakespeare. I like to pick my own books, and I have an aversion to anything I was forced to read in high school. I always did badly on those assignments because I'd read the whole thing in the first few days and I'd know things I shouldn't during the quizzes and stuff, and my teachers would get all pissed off.

DarkAngela, I listened to Duma Key this week at work. It was pretty damn good, I think I'll buy the book.

I get to listen to my ipod at work, and listening to music all day makes me sleepy, so I've been downloading audio books. I listened to the Bromeliad trilogy last week (not Pratchett's best, but pretty good, all the same), and I'm currently listening to Gaiman's Stardust right now.

Oooh, good, I shall definitely get the book. You know, that book was originally a short story titled "Memory," published in Tin House magazine? I found it online, printed it up and read it. It got me excited about the book. There's a little blurb from the editor on the Amazon.com page for Duma Key...this is the link to the short story: http://images.amazon.com/media/i3d/01/memory.pdf.

I wish I could do the audio book thing at work, but I'd get all wrapped up in the story and never get anything done. But music doesn't put me to sleep, so at least I've got that. icon_wink.gif

Well, the data entry part of my job is pretty simple, once I get going in the morning I just cruise on autopilot the rest of the day.

Today I get to start on training on the programming system, so I may have to cut back on the audio books. I just got the first eight Discworld books too. It has been a while since I first read those, so I was really looking forward to them. Maybe the training will only take a couple hours.
