WA has volcanoes and earthquakes. At least with hurricanes you have advance warning. _________________ This post brought to you by Petty Revenge: When not being a jerk just won't do.

You'd think that that would help, but it doesn't. People never leave if they aren't absolutely sure that they wont die if they don't. And besides, it's kind of hard to hurricane proof when it can pick up your entire house. _________________ NVNC ID VIDES, NVNC NE VIDES

Too much effort. You have to keep in mind the fact that the majority of the population is comprised of retired people and tourists. _________________ NVNC ID VIDES, NVNC NE VIDES

It is . . . as a tourist or old person. One isn't here long enough to realize how irksome the sun can be, and the other is too old to care. The state has two settings. Too hot and too wet. It's only fun in moderation. But maybe that's just me. _________________ NVNC ID VIDES, NVNC NE VIDES

I'd rather have the variety. That is why Chicago > Florida. That's right, a city is better then the whole state. (well maybe. At least it is better than Orlando.)
Chicago's definitely better than all of Florida, then. Except maybe Tampa. I haven't been there. But I haven't been to Chicago either...but I've heard it's better than Columbus, so... *shrug*
Anyway, I love other Big 10-ers.
Hurricanes can't pick up whole houses, that's tornados. Tornados can happen pretty much anywhere.
Also, you forgot the annoying mix of people in Florida (at least in S. FL, where I live). There's:
- The old people that can't drive anymore, but think they can
- The tourists that have no clue where they're going, and drive like it
- The New Yorkers who have a winter home here that drive like they're in NYC (assholes)
- The foreigners that NEVER learned to drive at all but do anyway
- The foreigners that insist on riding bicycles in the middle of the road because they can't drive cars legally (and the fact that they're illegal aliens doesn't bother them, HAHAHA!).
- The "normal" residents that get so pissed at everyone else that they throw shit out the windows at other cars to try to make them wreck. Yes, I have seen this happen.
Every day that I make it to work without a major accident is a miracle. As they say around here "I SURVIVED I-95!!!".
Okay, I'm done now. Welcome, all you newbs. _________________ "A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have." -Pres. Ford

I'm Loki, and I'm Hex's roommate. After seeing what a mess he had made of well, everything, I kicked him off my computer indefinitely. That was about 9 months ago. In the interim I've been using his account to post. Anyway, I'm into most of the same thing as Hex; LARP, laser tag (although I'm not nearly as nuts about it as he is), paintball, and videogames. _________________ This post brought to you by Petty Revenge: When not being a jerk just won't do.
Hi! I'm Aaron; a workaholic college student who finally got a vacation and decided to read a book that looked interesting which was bought from the back of an old rock/metal record store. No, the best books DON'T come from libraries.
Now here I am. Joined the website to have a little bit of fun and get a chance to do something other than math...
Hi Aaron! *hands you a welcome cookie and a cup of cocoa* Welcome to the site, pull up a seat and get comfy, it's generally a bit of a wait* in between stories.... (*runs from Joe-kun* XD ) In the meantime, hope to see you around on the forums and maybe in the chatroom before school devours you again.... ^__________^

Thank you for the nice welcome! I will be around, probably in and out every now and then just to see what's up. Still gotta get used to the whole culture here and see what it's all about.
Yeah, I've seen some of those posting dates and the gap between. Hopefully that means I'm one more member who can do some poking and motivating!
Hope to get to know some of you here and make some new friends! _________________ -Aaron

Welcome Aaron, nice to see you. Please don't start any fires without sharing pic's of it, and watch out for the shoe-thief. And a stray Botter, but that's another story... _________________ This calls for a delicate blend of psychology and extreme violence.
