Is Micah in the Anita Blake series? That series captured my heart when she described the costume Edward wore to the Circus. Accidentally of course, but hey.

I ordered the Icewind Dale trilogy, and Legacy of the Drow right after I finished reading it.

I liked it.

I'm almost done with Tale of the Body Thief, also by Anne Rice (notice a pattern?)

Terror in the Name of God - Jessica Stern

before that: Warriors of God - James Reston, Jr. (Pretty much an unrelated topic actually)

And now I'm looking for a good book to read, I think I'll go buy Born in Blood and Fire: A Concise History of Latin America by John Charles Chasteen later this week.

Oh and about Salvatore: I like his books, good stories, and he's a pretty cool guy to talk to (I went to a book signing of his once). But I get tierd with the invulnerability of the heroes through the whole book. Really there's rarely any deaths, no one really has any major adversity, any sense of hopelessness or problems feels hollow and forced. Good books to read for entertainment, and that's what they're made for, but I really like A Song of Ice and Fire (By George RR Martin) more because it feels more real. The characters don't have happy lives, and they don't always win.

I actually started East of Eden today because I forgot I bought it awhile ago and never read it. And my brother recommended it pretty heavily.

I read the Legacy first. Welcome to the dark road which ends in 60+ FR themed novels and being antsy waiting for this to come out.

I think more Salvatore's problem is that his characters inhabit the D&D FR setting. Raise Dead is only a 5th level spell and level nine clerics are common. By comparison Martin seems to like killing off every character that makes his books worth reading and resurecting only the most incredibly annoying ones. At five books the Song of Ice and Fire has gone on too long to the point that it seems he's taking the piss. At sixteen main books and seven more spinoffs the Drizzt saga, while not spectacularly great, is still enjoyable.
