Um, .Joe? Had you maybe thought about using the Internet (you're soaking in it) to find the nearest self-service laundromat? Google maps business search or even Switchboard would have probably gotten you faster (and better) answers than you got. Sometimes technology is better than "the human touch".
And those prices at the hotel laundry? Daaaaaamn! At " $7.00 per t-shirt, $14.00 per pair of pants, and a whopping $5.00 per single pair of unmentionables" they're making a total killing when you consider they're probably paying the laundry staff minimum wage. And they're probably tossing your stuff into huge batches of clothing too, so it's not like they're lovingly hand beating your clothing on a rock in the stream and hand wringing them.
The hotel only charges that much because they know that the average American is WAY too lazy to look around for a laundromat... or leave the hotel for reasons other than sight-seeing. Convenient that the little Chinese woman had that picture!
maggot_hex Dug through LoDT and found an old thread with usercodes and XBox Live names of MI users so that people would have this information readily available. This makes Maggot_Hex a true hero in every sense of the word. Be sure to let him know how much you appreciate his digging through LoTD to find that thread so that you could post into it and read the names of other MI users who have handles on gaming networks, because he deserves the praise and accolades.

I used google, i used google maps, I used mapquest, I used Yahoo maps... none of them found the dopest route.
Silly Joe, that's why you use Google maps Find Business option and type "self service laundromat" and "42nd street and 2nd avenue" in the "what" and "where" boxes.
Granted, you wouldn't want to use their "driving directions" if you're hoofing it since the driving directions are based on the fact that NYC is a land of many one way streets.
