Can't say what the last book I finished was, but I'm currently reading The Vampire Lestat, and it's about the son of an 18th century feudal lord who runs away to Paris and is turned, against his will, into a vampire. As for liking it, it's easily the 15th time I've read it, what do you think?

I think at this point the entire world know's who Lestat is.
Last thing I read was book 3 part 2 of the Song of Ice and Fire. I'm rather annoyed at Mr. Martin now.

There's far too many people who saw Queen of the Damned. I don't think the people who made the movie even read the books.

I never read Queen of the Damned but up until leaving the concert it was pretty close to my interpretation of The Vampire Lestat. Plus I've met the lead actor a few times back in the way back when so it was cool to see a local boy on the big screen.

[EDIT] Also: Soundtrack== OMFG WIN![/EDIT]

I have read Queen of the Damned (I own it, in fact), as well as every other vampire novel by Anne Rice. Even between Lestat and the movie there's some pretty big inconsistencies, like in the book Lestat is created by Magnus, in the movie it's Marius. Marius and Lestat's appearance is another big one. There were a lot of important character development parts in Lestat that were left out, such as the whole Children of Darkness storyline which led to the creation of the Theater of the Vampires, or the search for Marius.

I'm currently reading The Communist Manifesto and I'm going to pick up a few new books by the end of this week (the new Chuck Palahniuk book as well as Magical Thinking by Augustine Buroughs)

I am currently working on getting through a book

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this one. “Tales of a New York Limo Driver” by Nicky Testaforte, I am really liking this one. Sex, Excess and Stupidity on Four Wheels... glimpse some excerpt at http://www.nylimotales.com/stories.html Down to the earth, so far it has my interest.

I'm reading the Memorial Day by Vince Flynn. It is the 4th in a series about a guy named Mitch Rap. He is an assassin working for the counter terrorism division of the CIA.

Oddly the books have very simple plots, are easy to read and when you get done you realize how little really happened. Yet, I can't put the darn things down. I am reading them one after another and normally I'd want a change of pace between them. icon_eek.gif

The last book I read was a novel called A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore. It's about this guy named Charlie who becomes Death. It sounds like a rehashed plot, and reads like a strange version of Dead Like Me (You know, the HBO Original series with Mandy Patinkin that was canceled after 2 seasons because, I don't know, people are dumb?) but it has its own charm. As an example of how hilarious it is, I was in stitches by page 8 and finished the book in a single night, reading off and on. I recommend it.

If you haven't already, you should read all of Christopher Moore's other books. Lots of the characters tend to show up in other books as cameos. In fact, Moore's latest book You Suck: A Love Story pretty much has at least one character from every other book show up in it.

I think my favorite of Moore's books is Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal. It was the first of his books that I read (not his first book though...) and I giggled pretty much all the way through it. When I was done with it, I took another trip to the book store to find more of Moore's previous books to read and have been buying his new books as they come out. Good stuff!

Oh yeah, the last book I read was The Nymphos of Rocky Flats: A Novel by Mario Acevedo. It's about a private investigator who got turned into a vampire while he was a soldier in Iraq. A friend in the Department of Energy asks him to check out an outbreak of nymphomania at an installation and then things get interesting.

It was a fast read and pretty good too. Some parts were a little repetitive seeming but overall the story was kind of fun.

Just got done reading The Good Guy, the new book by Dean Koontz. One of his shorter books, but I still enjoyed it for the most point.

Just finished up with Micah by Laurell K. Hamilton, and I'm starting on the next one in the series (Danse Macabre).
