Hey, everybody. We need to revive chatty chat night around here.

DrunkenBug has been popping in and out of the Chat late at night, and AngryRobots stopped by the other day, and it got me thinking that we should have a set time again when a bunch of us make an effort to chat it up each week. Man, it was fun, back in the day.

It would give some of the newer members a chance to be more integrated to the community and maybe even bring closer together/becoming tighter knit as a whole. I dunno if Joe actually has the time now, or if he'll have any later, to be dropping by, but I think it's a good idea.

We don't need a set topic to bang on about every week, but I think the site could really benefit from all the members interacting semi-regularly, and think of all the hilarity that could ensue! Remember all the brilliant chat quotes we used to have?!?

Anyway, I think Monday nights at 9 p.m. eastern could be a good place to start, that's when it always used to be, but if anyone has any better suggestions feel free to throw them in this thread here.

I suppose that works, but evenings usually mean I won't be sober in chat. Could be fun!

I haven't been able to get in to chatty chat at all for a couple of months now. It just doesn't connect, even from here on the website. *shrug*

Wow it's been ages since i've been on chatty chat...hmm I wonder if it still works. I happens to be monday and it's just about 9 here....so let's go see!

Well, once in a while I wake up sober. That's the advantage about not having a schedule, I can sleep long enough to wear off the effects of whatever inebritating substances I may have partaken of the night (or sometimes week) before. But I usually fix that within 15 minutes of waking up. Don't worry, I'm not usually visiting MI during that time.

The Hex has actually experienced withdrawl symptoms (tremors and chills) when deprived of chat for an extended period of time.

I tried to get into chaty chat last night, but it wouldnt connect for me.

If you're going in through the webpage, you have to have java enabled or approve the applet to be installed and run on your computer, Mirc is a lot better though, you can set your own colors for everything and log the chats, automatically reconnect, and lots of other things.

The trick is to wait. Conversation dies, and picks up again. If you are only there for a couple minutes, your chances of catching something happening is low.

Chatzilla is also another excellent IRC client. It has most of the same features as mirc withour any of the peculiarities (mirc, private chats, and links don't mix well)
