OUR OWN LANGUAGE IS JUST FINE! AHJIOETHJWITHJORWJTLEJIOERHJTOWRHJTRWEHJTHERHTERT
/freaks out beacuse there is nothing wrong with english and can't stand when people use other languages for only certain words when ours would do just fine, and, get this, pretty much everyone knows what the english equivalent is!
(but baka is so much quicker to type than "stupid" or "idiot(ic)" or "dumb"... and is more fun to say. "Bah-kah" v. "stu-pid"... see? ) _________________ Εν ονεíροις ἀλήθεια

To quote myself (odd, I had this conversation with someone yesterday), "There is nothing wrong with our own language. Please do not bastardize another when ours would do, simply because you have latched on to a few parts of the associated culture. Baa." Nothing personal, I have had this opinion for years. Pet peeve of mine.
But to use the words you DO know in another language as often as possible leads to being able to pick up the language quicker than you would if you didn't use what you know... one of the reasons why it's easier to learn a different language if you're in another country that speaks that language, since you're constantly using/expanding your vocabulary...
*shrugs* But if it bothers you . . . _________________ Εν ονεíροις ἀλήθεια

Ah, well, speaking a language to learn it I have no problem with, though I dont really know how speaking a few words you already know helps. But hey, if thats what floats your boat, on with the word association game!
(it's why they have you do all those repetative exercises in foreign language class... once you know words, you aren't trying to remember everything at once, just the words you recently picked up. And helps with spelling/pronounciation -if a word sounds like this part in the other word, then it's spelled this way, and vice versa [usually]. *shrugs*)
But yes, on with the word association game... where'd it leave off? "Pet peeve"? Fine...
