Soo.... anybody gonna be giving it a go this year? I was too busy and missed the last one but I have some ideas percolating
For those who have no clue what I'm talking aboot....
National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.
Valuing enthusiasm and perseverance over painstaking craft, NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared away by the time and effort involved.
Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.
Make no mistake: You will be writing a lot of crap. And that's a good thing. By forcing yourself to write so intensely, you are giving yourself permission to make mistakes. To forgo the endless tweaking and editing and just create. To build without tearing down.
As you spend November writing, you can draw comfort from the fact that, all around the world, other National Novel Writing Month participants are going through the same joys and sorrows of producing the Great Frantic Novel. Wrimos meet throughout the month to offer encouragement, commiseration, and—when the thing is done—the kind of raucous celebrations that tend to frighten animals and small children.

Not me, I'm not doing that to myself again.
I wanna know who decided to put NaNo in one of the busiest months of the year that's already filled with stress. Why the heck couldn't they pick July or August? One without holidays and family plans? _________________ There will come a time when you believe everything is finished, but that will be the beginning. - Louis L'Amour

Hmmm, sounds like it could be fun, but I dunno if I can crank that much out in such a short time. Sure back in to college days I could write a 20-30 page paper in less than 10 hours, but all my research was dont and all I had to do was pick the pretty words to explain it all. Im gonna think about this a little bit.

I think I might try after it, as I do have only one out of a set of three novels done, and it'd be nice to get some loose framework at least done for the second. I'm trying to get the entire trilogy done and edited before I start trying to pawn my secondhand skills off to a publisher.
Hmmm. If I remember I might try this. But, as they said: November is pretty busy. Competition month and try outs for Carolina Crown. _________________ Ölüm bizi ayırana dek senin bir parçan olmak istiyorum

I think I'm gonna go for it. But "you're going to be writing a lot of crap" is MORE than accurate for me. XP _________________ Ölüm bizi ayırana dek senin bir parçan olmak istiyorum

I'd rather NOT burn myself out trying to regurgitate the awesome fleeting ideas inside my head all for the sake of one crappy novel that will never be published. I'd rather work my first and second jobs, jott down ideas (I have tens of amazing, creative ideas each day), and develop them naturally. Like, on my website that will be built as I have the time probably after Christmas (when my second job ends).
But thanks for the invitation anyway. _________________

Oh, no, I fully intend on writing some kickass stories and a novel or two, but I just do not intend to be killing myself with the act of writing during a certain month, etc. _________________
