I just started reading The Walking Dead, and Im nearly done with the first book. I must say it is fantastic. A friend suggest that I read it after he found out that I greatly enjoyed zombie movies. I guess Ill have to make a trip up to the Laughing Ogre to get books 3-8. The kinda cute comic nerd girl seemed quite shocked when I told her I hadn't been in a comicbook store for nearly 12 years. I may be a geek, but I stopped reading comics when it got to expensive for me to keep up.

Jeremy made me pick up walking dead, i haven't read it yet but it's on the "next in line" shelf.

I have read DMZ though, and it fucking rules. Absolutely terrific.

What is this DMZ you speak of?

I have also been told that there is another one called The Boys that is about superhero police or something. The description is a little fuzzy from last night, I had a few Blue Moons when my friend was telling me about it.

Dug through LoDT and found an old thread with usercodes and XBox Live names of MI users so that people would have this information readily available. This makes Maggot_Hex a true hero in every sense of the word. I finished book 1 of The Walking Dead. I'll probably start on book 2 tonight and pick up 3 and 4 this weekend.

Walking Dead is amazing... My public library had the first 5 collections... Then I went to barnes and nobles and read the next couple sitting on the floor (my SO was reading a book about shoes at the same time)...

Did the same thing with Y The Last Man...

We the Living by Ayn Rand. I'm not much of a fan of Rand but this book is special.

I'm still working on Inferno (in the 5th circle), but it seems to me like most of the details are from mythology and Florentine history--mostly Dante's contemporaries. There's quite a bit of stuff from epic poetry like Iliad and Odyssey too. I'd recommend a copy of Inferno that has a lot of detailed footnotes. (I got one from Barnes & Noble, I think it was their own edition, that I like pretty well.)

Good luck! You gonna read Paradise and Purgatory too?

Let's see, finally got The Walking Dead 8, and for everyone reading that hasn't gotten to it...um...fucking crazy. You'll see why.

Also reading "The Gun Seller" by Hugh Laurie (yeah, House) and it's pretty good. I keep reading some and then not reading for a while, but it's certainly interesting and funny in quite a few parts, only tough thing is when he starts using british slang or places around london.

Also, why the hell is this thread in anything goes and not talky talky?
