This novel is being written straight through, from beginning to end, in 24 hours as a benefit for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

I cannot tell you how scary this is.

Writing a novel in front of people, posting as you write and letting them see the underpinnings of your horrible writing style... it's literally the same as inviting everyone you know and then some to watch you as you get dressed for the Prom. No matter how nice your hair looks at the actual event, no matter how great you look in your tux when the limo drops you off... Everyone saw you NAKED. It changes the whole thing. You look at this prim and polished gentleman who could very well be a cover model for GQ after getting so dolled up, and all you can think is "I saw him naked, and it wasn't pretty." Your pot-belly, no matter how well hidden by that clever cumberbund, will still play in the minds of the observers. Your flaws are completely exposed. You can't hide.

Basically, I am sitting down in front of my computer at 9:00 AM with a few notes, an outline, and a HELL of a lot of coffee. What comes out (other than pee) is anyone's guess.

Here are the things you need to know about the novel itself. Number one, you will notice that unlike other stories on this site, the stories are double spaced, indented and 12pt type - not resizable. This is because I am following the general conventions of a novel.

The story will be posted in 'chunks' every 30 minutes or so. However, there will only be "posts" for each chapter. Instead of 48 individual posts each time I update to the site, I will be updating each post with new content as necessary and creating new posts per chapter. Needless to say, there WILL be spelling errors, there WILL be grammatical errors, there WILL be a few continuity errors. I will go as fast as I can on this and worry about cleaning it up once I'm done. I hope you guys will enjoy the story, but mostly I hope you enjoy the fast-pased, completely out of the blue nature of the plot progression - even if it is poorly written.

Whatever coolness factor this project has has just been elevated by a factor of at least 200. Aleks has been producing images based on what I have written... They are amazing. I'll be posting soon.
